Coming from the relatively cool climate of Coombsville in Napa's southeastern corner, the 2013 Arietta Cabernet Sauvignon expresses the best attributes of this heralded variety. Aromas of mint, smoke, dark black fruits and sandalwood rise from the glass even as the wine is poured. Notes of black tea, vanilla bean and forest floor follow on the palate. This is a highly perfumed, complex red wine, with firm tannins that build on the finish, a good sign for long aging.
