Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is aged to taste, and this expression is, too. Maker’s Mark’s oldest release to date doesn’t follow the aged statement playbook. Cellar Aged Bourbon undergoes an extended secondary maturation in a limestone cellar, developing a deeper, richer and more complex flavor. To achieve this, we used the Maker’s Mark limestone cellar to age the bourbon for an additional five to six years after the standard ~6 year maturing in our traditional rickhouses. This slows down the tannic impact that occurs during maturation while allowing the barrel to develop complexities and deeper, darker flavor characteristics. Cellar Aged is bottled at cask strength, and the final proof of the 2023 release is 115.7. Serve Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged Bourbon neat or on the rocks to discover rich, fruity, and more complex flavor with hidden depths, but no bitterness.
