The Blue Blazer was created by Jerry Thomas in 1862. Known as the father of mixology, Thomas introduced this cocktail in his book 'The Bartender's Guide' as a way to demonstrate flamboyant bartending techniques.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Prepare two heatproof mugs or glasses.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 1.5 ounces of whiskey and 1 ounce of boiling water.
