History
The Bourbon Sazerac merges traditions from the original Sazerac, reflecting the evolution of cocktail culture over the years.
Instructions
Step 1.
- Chill the Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a separate mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon, 1/4 oz of simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters.
Step 3.
- Stir well until chilled and properly mixed.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice water from the Old Fashioned glass.
Step 5.
- Coat the inside of the glass with absinthe, then discard any excess.
Step 6.
- Strain the vodka mixture into the prepared glass.
Step 7.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
0.25 oz Absinthe (optional)
0.25 oz Simple syrup
2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
1 piece Lemon twist — twist for garnish (garnish)
