Originating in New Orleans, the Sazerac has been reimagined through the use of various spirits. This version embraces Brazilian Cachaça, adding an intriguing character to the traditional recipe.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water and set aside.
Step 2.
- In a separate mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube with the Angostura bitters and a few drops of Peychaud's bitters until dissolved.
Step 3.
- Add ice to the mixing glass and pour in the Cachaça. Stir well until chilled.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice water from the chilled Old Fashioned glass.
Step 5.
- Rinse the glass with absinthe, coating the interior, then discard the excess.
Step 6.
- Strain the Cachaça mixture into the coated glass.
Step 7.
- Garnish with a lemon twist, expressing the oils over the drink before placing it on the rim.

2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters (optional)
