Step 1.
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle 4 fresh basil leaves with simple syrup to release their oils.
Step 2.
- Add 2 oz of gin, 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, and ice to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Shake well for about 15 seconds until chilled.
Step 4.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a fresh basil leaf on top.
