History

The Ramos Fizz originated in New Orleans in the late 1800s, traditionally made with gin. This mezcal variation pays homage to the original while infusing it with a distinct flavor profile from the agave spirit, making for a refreshing and complex drink.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Step 2.
- Add 2 oz of mezcal, 1 oz of lemon juice, 1 oz of simple syrup, and 1 oz of heavy cream to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds to combine and chill.
Step 4.
- Add 1 egg white to the shaker and shake again, this time without ice, for about 15 seconds.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice.
Step 6.
- Top with club soda to fill the glass and gently stir to combine.
Step 7.
- Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
