Step 1.
- In a shaker, combine the mezcal, lemon juice, simple syrup, and fresh mint leaves.
Step 2.
- Muddle the mint gently to release its oils but not completely destroy the leaves.
Step 3.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Step 4.
- Strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a sprig of mint.
