History
The Red Hook emerged from the cocktail scene in the early 2000s, inspired by classic whiskey drinks and named after the Red Hook neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.
Instructions
Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of rye whiskey, 0.5 oz of sweet vermouth, and 0.5 oz of maraschino liqueur.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled (about 30 seconds).
Step 4.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
