History
The Screwdriver cocktail is believed to have originated in the 1940s, created by American oil workers who mixed vodka with orange juice to create a quick and easy drink. Its name supposedly comes from the tool they used to stir the drink when a spoon was not available.
Instructions
Step 1.
- Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
Step 2.
- Pour 1.5 ounces of vodka over the ice.
Step 3.
- Add 4.5 ounces of fresh orange juice.
Step 4.
- Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a slice of orange.
