History

The Seelbach cocktail originated in the early 1900s at the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. This variation substitutes based on a rising appreciation for brandies in contemporary mixology.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill a flute glass.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 1.5 oz of brandy, 0.5 oz of sweet vermouth, and 0.5 oz of orange liqueur.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
Step 4.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled flute glass.
Step 5.
- Top with 2 oz of sparkling wine.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
