Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of sweet vermouth, 1 oz of rye whiskey, and a dash of orange bitters.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well until chilled.
Step 4.
- Empty the ice water from the coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
