- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 ounces of rye whiskey, 1 ounce of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice water from the chilled coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
