Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice and water from the chilled coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a cherry and an orange twist.
