The Saratoga Special is believed to have originated in the late 1800s, inspired by the racecourse culture of Saratoga Springs, New York, where friends gathered to celebrate victories and enjoy unique blends of spirits.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of bourbon, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 1/4 oz of orange curaçao.
Step 3.
- Add ice to the mixing glass and stir well for about 15-20 seconds until chilled.
Step 4.
- Empty the ice water from the coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel, expressing the oils over the drink.
