Step 1.
- Measure 2 oz of rye whiskey and pour into a cocktail shaker.
Step 2.
- Add 3/4 oz of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Pour in 1/2 oz of simple syrup.
Step 4.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a Maraschino cherry and a slice of orange.
