Step 1.
- Muddle fresh basil leaves in a shaker to release their oils.
Step 2.
- Add absinthe, lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.
Step 4.
- Strain the mixture into a coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a basil leaf on top.
