Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, add 2 ounces of rye whiskey.
Step 3.
- Add 1 ounce of sweet vermouth.
Step 4.
- Add 1/2 ounce of absinthe.
Step 5.
- Add a couple dashes of Angostura bitters.
Step 6.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
Step 7.
- Discard the ice water from the coupe glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
Step 8.
- Garnish with a cherry.
