Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1/2 oz of absinthe, 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth, and a dash of orange bitters.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice water from the coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
