Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water and setting aside.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of dark rum and 0.5 oz of sweet vermouth.
Step 3.
- Add a dash of absinthe to the mixing glass.
Step 4.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled, about 30 seconds.
Step 5.
- Discard the ice water from the chilled coupe glass and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
