History

The Absinthe Rum Manhattan emerged in the late 20th century as mixologists began experimenting with traditional cocktails, seeking to incorporate new flavors while preserving the essence of the classics.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water and setting aside.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of dark rum and 0.5 oz of sweet vermouth.
Step 3.
- Add a dash of absinthe to the mixing glass.
Step 4.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled, about 30 seconds.
Step 5.
- Discard the ice water from the chilled coupe glass and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
