Step 1.
- Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Armagnac, 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth, and 1/4 oz of simple syrup.
Step 3.
- Add a dash of Angostura bitters to the mixture.
Step 4.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.
Step 5.
- Discard the ice water from the cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
