The Bamboo cocktail originated in the late 19th century, thought to be created in the bars of Japan, blending the flavors of dry sherry and vermouth to reflect a fusion of Eastern and Western tastes.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 1.5 ounces of dry sherry and 1.5 ounces of dry vermouth.
Step 3.
- Add a few dashes of orange bitters.
Step 4.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Step 5.
- Dump the ice water from the cocktail glass.
Step 6.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled cocktail glass.
Step 7.
- Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink and drop it in as garnish.
