History
The Daiquiri originated in Cuba and is named after a beach near Santiago. It became popular in the early 20th century, especially among American expatriates and tourists.
Instructions
Step 1.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Step 2.
- Add 2 ounces of white rum, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, and 3/4 ounce of simple syrup to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
Step 4.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a lime wheel.
