Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a shaker filled with ice, combine 2 oz of rye whiskey, 3/4 oz of green chartreuse, 3/4 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 1/2 oz of simple syrup.
Step 3.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
Step 4.
- Empty the ice water from the coupe glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
