Step 1.
- Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice and water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 ounces of bourbon, 1 ounce of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Step 3.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well for about 30 seconds until chilled.
Step 4.
- Discard the ice and water from the cocktail glass.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
