The Rum Castaway was created in the tropical bars of the Caribbean, inspired by sailors who would blend their rations with fruits from the islands to create a refreshing drink after long voyages.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Step 2.
- Add 2 ounces of light rum, 1 ounce of coconut cream, 1 ounce of pineapple juice, and 1 ounce of lime juice to the shaker.
Step 3.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Step 4.
- Strain the mixture into a hurricane glass filled with ice.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry.
