Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Scotch whiskey, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 1/4 oz of absinthe.
Step 3.
- Add ice to the mixing glass and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Step 4.
- Remove the coupe glass from the freezer or discard the ice water.
Step 5.
- Strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the chilled coupe glass.
Step 6.
- Garnish with a cherry.
