The Widow’s Kiss is said to have originated in the late 19th century as part of the cocktail renaissance where spirits began to shine with the addition of herbal liqueurs and bitters.

Instructions

Step 1.
- Chill a coupe glass by filling it with ice water.
Step 2.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of brandy, 3/4 oz of yellow Chartreuse, and 1/2 oz of sweet vermouth.
Step 3.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake well for 15-20 seconds until the mixture is chilled.
Step 4.
- Empty the ice water from the coupe glass and strain the mixture into the glass.
Step 5.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
